Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need previous Martial Arts experience?

- No, you do not need previous experience. In fact, most students come to us with no experience whatsoever.

Do I have to be fit and/or strong?

- No. You will gradually gain fitness as you attend regular classes. As for strength, you will learn that Ju-Jitsu Techniques use the strength of your attacker against them! That's why this art is suitable to anyone.

What if I don't like it?

- You can come and watch our classes without commitment, and ask us any questions you like on the day. We are a very friendly and welcoming club.
You can even have your first week's lessons with us, completely free. So you will be confident before you start whether this is the art for you.

Will I get hurt?

- Our experienced and NVQ Qualified Instructor is fully insured, and follows all health and safety procedures, to ensure all classes have a safe environment in which all students can learn and excel.

Am I insured?

- Yes, your initial joining membership will include full student to student insurance, for 1 year. To be renewed annually.

Can I come and watch a class before deciding whether to join in?

- Yes, in fact we welcome and encourage you to do so, as it gives you first hand experience of what we do, and enables you to meet us, and iron out
any doubts you may have.

What should I wear for my first lesson?

- Just wear something comfortable such as a T-Shirt and Tracksuit Bottoms. Avoid items of clothing with zips or buttons if you can, and please remove all jewellery.
